About Ruth Delacourt

I’m Ruth Delacourt, indie author of The House in Elmhurst, an upmarket book club novel that delves into themes of family, secrets, childhood, and the relationships that shape us. I grew up in the United States before moving to Britain as a postgraduate student, and I now reside in the scenic rural South West of England. My experiences moving between countries and cultures have sparked a deep interest in how places, families, and memories linger with us, even after we believe we've left them behind.  

The House in Elmhurst is my debut novel, but my journey as a self published novelist involved much more than just writing the story. I navigated the entire process from first draft through to editing, publishing, and marketing, ultimately placing my book into the hands of readers. Along the way, I have gained invaluable insights into the realities of becoming a self published author.
